Sample Production.

The aim of our in house specialist production team is to make sure material manufacturers understand

how their materials work within a complete armour system. We have grown an in-house sample production

capability that can produce bespoke armour systems solely for design and development purposes. This

position allows us to set up tests to your needs and to control every layer of technology that is applied

to your product. Our unique market position allows us to produce marketing examples for you while

leaving you independent of any individual (or even potential) customer.

We have a range of facilities and equipment covering nearly all aspects of processing routes such as

vacuum infusion, vacuum bagging, autoclaving, pressing, and have experience in both transparent and

opaque systems, thermoplastics and thermosets. Because we are able to perform such a range of

processes we can help you provide processing guidance to your customers for new products as part of

a comprehensive technical support package.

Our processing expertise cover the full spectrum of materials from very high performance applications for

aerospace to lower performance materials for vehicle and body armour panels; understanding the nuances

of materials and their interactions is just as key to extracting the best performance from them in each

case.

Composite Structural Armour is not a new concept, however understanding the compromises that have

to be made is critical to extracting the best balance for performance; our experience ranges from armoured

helicopter seats through lightweight vehicle structures to turrets on IFV’s.

Due to our extensive experience and knowledge we also do very short runs to trial ideas and to submit

assessments to the relevant bodies: this allows our customers to concentrate on their large scale

production processes while we do the expensive and intensive development leg work for them.
